An airplane is equipped with several systems to protect it from fire, including: Fire extinguishers: Installed in key areas, such as the cockpit, cabin, and cargo hold, for manual use in case of fire. Fire-resistant materials: Aircraft are built with fire-resistant materials in the structure, insulation, and cabin interior. Fire detection and suppression systems: These include smoke detectors in cargo holds and engine fire detection systems that trigger automatic fire suppression when necessary. Engine fire suppression: In the event of an engine fire, the aircraft has a built-in system to discharge fire suppressant agents (like Halon) to extinguish the fire. Thermal protection: Heat-resistant coatings and materials are used in critical components, such as fuel tanks and engine areas, to reduce fire risk.
