In normal operations, the decision of the Pilot in Command (PIC) should not be overruled. However, in some critical situations, like when the PIC becomes incapacitated or makes a clearly unsafe decision, the other flight crew member must take action. For example, if the PIC ignores a terrain warning or flies the aircraft into danger, the co-pilot has the duty to speak up and take control if needed. This is part of good Crew Resource Management (CRM) and helps protect the safety of the flight.
