It’s a list of systems, instruments and equipment on an aircraft which are not required to be operative for flight. It is used only on ground before engine start-up. If problems occur, we will check MEL for the relative information to decide whether to continue the flight or not. MEL tells us what kind of problesm can be accepted to continue the flight under specific conditions.
