If a tire were to burst during takeoff, the pilot would need to make a very swift but measured decision. In other words, if the aircraft hadn’t reached the takeoff decision speed, they’d likely abort the takeoff and bring the plane to a stop on the runway. However, if they were beyond that speed and committed to flight, they’d continue the takeoff, handle the situation in the air, and then prepare for a safe landing, possibly with emergency services on standby.
