If a pilot is unsure of the waypoint name to which he’s proceeding, he would use standard phraseology to confirm it. For example, if there were any doubt, he would contact ATC and say something like, “Request confirmation of waypoint name for our next routing,” or “Could you confirm the identifier of the upcoming waypoint?” In other words, if there is any uncertainty, the pilot would simply clarify before proceeding. This ensures safe navigation and aligns with good airmanship. In summary, if unsure, verify with ATC and proceed with confirmed information.
